Nighoj is a village in Ahmad Nagar district and it is popular for potholes, A major geographical wonder. Geologists believe that these are asia’s largest potholes. That’s why this place is also called as Grand Canyon of Maharashtra. Many geologists visit this place to study this potholes.

Some of these potholes are as big as big pots. Scientists believe that this potholes are formed by high rainfall which caused kukdi river to flow out from the highlands with high force. But locals believe that this potholes are created by goddess Malganga.

Nighoj is also popular for Temple of goddess Malganga. Locals celebrate Ghagar Yatra every year in the month of April. There are two temples of Goddess malganga on both sides of kukdi river. There is also a hanging bridge which connects two temples

Nighoj is must visiting and less known place near pune. It is best place to plan one day trip near pune.

Nighoj is around 73 km from Pune. On the way you can see beautiful moorland and different types of birds and animals.
